About

“Art is autobiographical; the pearl is the oyster’s autobiography” Fredirico Fellini.

I was educated at the University of California at Berkeley, where I studied English and Art.  Since then I have pursued art at Cabrillo College and am currently exploring the tradition of Botanical Art in watercolor by studying under Catherine Watters since 2003.  As a member of The American Society of Botanical Artists, I continue my art education at ASBA conferences and various workshops across the country.

As a past member of Junior Center of Arts and Science, I created sets and performed for East Bay Children’s Theatre serving over 10,000 underprivileged children a year.  I designed for the Oakland Arts Council Mask-Making Project and took part in Oakland’s Firestorm Tile Mural Project where my art is permanently installed at the Rockridge BART station.  Other public permanent collections include U.S. National Botanic Garden, Heather Farm Garden Florilegium and Alcatraz Island Garden Florilegium.

My botanical watercolors have been selected for the following juried exhibits: The de Young Open, U.S. National Parks Centennial, Filoli Gardens, Golden Gate Park Anniversary, California Native Plant Society, Alcatraz Island, Save the Oaks, S.F. Strybing Arboretum, National Heirloom Festival, and Heather Farm Garden.

Cover illustrations include: Limoneira Company Annual Report, U.C. Berkeley Botanical Gardens and the National Park Service Alcatraz Island Gardens. Publications include Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, Piedmont Living Magazine, and The Piedmont Post.

My work is currently available for purchase as fine art Giclee prints, signed and numbered 1-50.  Large 6″ x 9″ note cards are also available.  Please see contact page.
